Thank you for visiting the home page of the Anglo-Japanese Rail Exchange Programme.

Founded in 1993 by Adrian Shooter CBE, the Programme offers managers from across the UK rail industry the chance to experience the Japan's rail industry in unparalleled depth. Graciously hosted by JR Central, the operator of the prestigious Tokaido Shinkansen, the visit lasts two weeks and encompasses every aspect of JR Central's business activities.

To find out more about what the Programme entails, and what previous participants have made of their visit, take a glance at some of the reports submitted from across the years.

To see what previous participants have got up to, there is also a gallery. These images showcase the best that Japan has to offer, whether that be the effortless speed and comfort of the Shinkansen, the beauty of the countryside, or the bewildering sights and sounds of Japan's megacities. Japan is truly a country for everyone.
